Ok Steph, I finally tried Shake Shack!

It was time for yet another birthday lunch at work. Today we are celebrating Steph, Sara and Kelly. Steph and Sara representing the younger generation of the team, requested we go to Shake Shack. Steph has been trying to get me to go there for months now. Now we all have the perfect excuse! The only concern I have is that we cannot reserve seats. We will have to go early and hope to grab enough for 15 or so people.

We arrived about 12:20 for a 12:30 scheduled lunch. There was plenty of seating, and we even managed to get some together, although some were high tops and some surrounding booths. A group left so we managed to get a long table that sat us all, it was perfect!

The place is essentially a fast food joint. You line up and order like any other fast food restaurant, but they take your name and call you when your order is ready. The menu has fries, with our without cheese, burgers, hot dogs, milk shakes and ice cream “mixers”. They are also gluten-free friendly. I ordered a basic cheeseburger with their “shake sauce”, fries and of course, I had to try a milk shake. A chocolate malt to be specific. The burger seemed small, but I will admit when I am wrong. The burger was more than ample. The burger was tasty, and the shake sauce added a nice zip. The fries were just as I like them, thin, crispy and salty. The shake was really good. A very nice treat. It had been quite a while since I had a milk shake and this one did not disappoint. I do have to say it is a bit pricey. A burger, small fries and milk shake was $15.  Quite more than say McDonald’s but worth the extra money.

My co-workers for the most part all enjoyed their meals. It was a general consensus that the food was good, and a fairly quick experience compared to some of our other marathon lunches. Listen below to the follow up thoughts of my co-workers Amy, Brenden, Steph and myself discussing our experience.
